Euan has agreed to run a discussion for us looking at what’s changed over the last four years and how you can be more effective in your use of Social Media in organisational life.

Special thanks to Terri Wade and Justine Stevenson of Deutsche Bank for agreeing to host February’s meetup.

Event Synopsis

After a brief introduction about the book, Euan will facilitate a group wide discussion about the challenges and opportunities offered through Social Media use.

Euan and I spoke briefly last week (24th January) about what the meetup will cover. Take a look at the the brief recording we made. If you can’t see it below, click here:

In addition, we’ll be running a live ‘TwitterWall’ at the event. This means that any Tweets using ‘ #lcegsm ‘ will be displayed live over data projector. Unlike many events, this is one where you are encouraged to Tweet what you think whilst the facilitator is running discussions.

Deutsche Bank have kindly offered to lay on food and drink. Therefore, this meetup is free to attend.

If you’d like to attend, contact me here.

“Pecha Kucha” for Corporate Communicators

People who know us here at EventExtra will be familiar with our involvement in “London Communicators and Engagement Group”.

A few of you reading may even be familiar with our first “Pecha Kucha” exploration back in 2008.

It is a presentation technique recognised as stemming from the Japanese art movement as a way for artists to describe their projects quickly.

The principle is very simple – 20 slides x 20 seconds per slide. Presentations are never longer than 6m40s. Indeed, at Extra Group, we’ve used a variation of it in numerous client events to help focus presentations on the essentials.

The LCEG is revisiting Pecha Kucha next month to allow people to experience the format.

Special thanks to Katherine Dooley of Burson Marsteller for hosting the event.

Location: Burson-Marsteller, Level 6 South, Central Saint Giles, 1 St Giles High Street, London WC2H 8AG. Map

Tube: Tottenham Court Road / Holborn

Time: Arrive at 6.30pm, Tuesday 13th September. 7.00 – 8.00pm main session

Event synopsis:

“Pecha Kucha: The Return”

Although the format stays the same as our 2008 event, the topics are different! We have three presenters. Each is given 20 minutes, with 6m40s for presenting. The remainder 13m20s are set aside for Q & A.

“The Anatomy of a Corporate Merger – From pre-deal to post merger integration”

Deenita Pattni, Head of Editorial recruitment, XchangeTeam

Nick Saalfeld, Director, YooDoo Media
"Build It And They Will Come?! Engagement Lessons for Communicators from an e-Learning Venture”

What do other people say about us?

It’s easy to say nice things about yourself. Far better when other people say them about you! A few positive testimonials from a recent LinkedIn post, where someone was asking for recommendations about companies who run workshops:

Most kind!
